Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP therapy for hair loss is a treatment that involves withdrawing a patient’s own blood, processing it so that only the enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain, and injecting it into scalp. PRP contains essential proteins and growth factors that were found to stimulate natural hair growth in certain studies. The treatment can also be combined with hair transplant surgery,  microneedling  or medications such as Finasteride and Minoxidil.

At Vertex, we strive to offer advanced, evidence-based and cost effective treatments to our clients. At the current time, we still echo the belief of many leading hair transplant surgeons, that PRP for hair restoration is still controversial. We currently do not offer PRP as a treatment regimen in our clinic for non- surgical patients. We may elect to use PRP in some surgical patients at the time of surgery, as this may lead to an earlier growth of transplanted follicles.

Our current view regarding PRP treatments is ofcourse subject to revision once further data is published.
